Your Stryker inflatable boat is in this for the long haul, and ultimately, proper maintenance is vital to optimal performance. We’ve created this guide to help you along so that you get the best out of your Stryker.
How to clean my Stryker?
Dirt and grime settle on your boat and, if left uncleaned, will speed up boat decay. Your boat must be cleaned after every use. The inside can be sprayed with fresh water and wiped down with 303 Aerospace Protectant to protect against UV Damage.
Once your boat is dry, it should be stored in a cool dry area away from the elements. We know it’s exciting to have your boat on the dock, but prolonged exposure to the sun is damaging, and sitting in water creates algae and bacteria. So, wrap it up after cleaning and drying, and store it in a safe place.
How to find a leak in a Stryker Inflatable Boat?
It is important to regularly check for leaks in your inflatable boat. Start by inflating the boat to its maximum capacity, and thoroughly check for signs of wear and tear. Thereafter, spray an equal mix of a mild PH liquid soap and warm water along the tubes.
Leaks are revealed when bubbles form. Use a marker to identify any leaks, and rinse the soap off the boat once you’re done, and allow the boat to dry completely. Small nicks can be fixed with silicone.
What to do if water is leaking into a Stryker inflatable boat through the drain plug?
There are several reasons why water would seep into your boat. The fix is usually quick and easy.
Start by checking that the drain plug is fully inserted. Inspect for any debris or dirt in the drain plug and remove it. If there isn’t enough sealant under the drain plug, or if it is loose, you will need to either apply silicone sealant or tighten the screws. Be careful not to crack the plastic.
How to replace a Halkey Roberts Valve in a Stryker Inflatable Boat?
Once you’ve identified the male and female sections on the valve, lay the deflated tube on a flat surface and press down on the valve. Hold the female valve securely while you unscrew the male valve and replace it with a new one. Close the valve once done, re-inflate, and check for leaks. Repair the leaks if necessary.
Using 2 part Glue to repair or add accessories to Stryker Inflatable Boats
When working with 2 part glue, ensure that you’re in a well-ventilated area with the necessary PPE. All surfaces to be repaired must be cleaned and buffed with 150 or 180 grit sandpaper. Mix 10 parts Stabond adhesive with 1 part accelerator in a container, and apply a thin layer to both surfaces that need to be joined.
Wait until it’s completely dry (about 30 mins) before applying a second coat. Let it dry for about 5 to 10 minutes before pressing the two pieces together, and using a roller, roll from the inside out. Wipe off all excess glue and leave to cure for 24 hours.
